How to fire a pot without a kiln
Make sure the pot is completely dry first. Then you have 2 options, neither method will create the heat of a kiln but will partially fire your work:

Put it in the oven at the hottest temperature for 1-2 hours.

Put it in an old plant pot in a bed of wood chippings and fire it in a bonfire. This might produce an interesting smoky surface.
You could buff it when it is cool using beeswax polish.

Top Tip
Fill your pot with scrunched up newspaper when you have finished making it, this will help it to keep its shape. It will burn away when you fire it.
